Updated Family Photos

With Miriam turning one, we decided it was time for new family photos! We had them taken by Denise Marrs again and we were so pleased with how they turned out! It was a hot afternoon, but the girls held up and lasted through the session well! We only had a few minor snafus, but all in all they turned out pretty well!

Little Momma

My sister sent me her Mei Tai baby carrier to use for Miriam since Adam is a little bit too big for it now. Cecilia has been calling it my "Mimi backpack." Since she sees me carrying around Mir, she also wants a "baby backpack." Here was my version of a doll Mei Tai with Baby Leah. How did I do it? Just made a triangle out of a baby receiving blanket and tied it around her. Viola!

Dress Up!

I had to go to the bathroom....and of course I can't do ANYTHING by myself anymore, including that. So the girls start to play, go in the closet, take out my shoes, etc. It is usually pretty cute. This is what I found when I came out:

Cheese!

A little bit more serious...

And we can't forget the little one!

Cecilia's Version of Irish Dancing

We have been listening to Papa's new CD a lot this weekend. After eating lunch, we discovered that Cecilia had spilled "baby tomato" on her dress. In efforts to avoid stains, we took the dress and I stain sticked it ASAP. When we came back to the office/dining room area, this is what we found:

Skirt, check. Spatulas, check. Dance-off, look out.

Even More Baby Tomatoes

We planted cherry tomatoes, not realizing it, but I am sure glad we did!
Cecilia loves looking at them and yells, "Look momma! Baby Tomatoes!" just about every time we are outside on the back porch.

Father's Day Part 2

For our second half of Father's Day we went to a park nearby that has a little lake and a fountain. What more could a kiddo ask for?? Oh wait, there are fish and 2 bridges! Wow! So we went and were going to have a picnic lunch until some ominous clouds came by and looked like a huge storm. Oh well, so much for that idea. We moved the picnic to the house and had a great time!

Yay swings!

Hi Papa!

Running with the pinwheel!

Here fishy fishy fishy!

And of course Mir!

Miss Marcie arrives!

And the ominous clouds. You would have left too, right?

Happy Father's Day Papa!

Today is Father's Day and we were SO happy to spend the day with our Papa!

We had a yummy homemade breakfast of scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, and of course lots of coffee! Momma did a pretty good job! Maybe even better than Cracker Barrel!

Then it was time for presents!

What is it Cecilia?
(I love Mir's face in this picture!)

(Off Kilter is a Celtic Rock band that performs at Epcot. Matt digs their music.)

Our Garden

Here is our little garden that I spoke of before:

It looks a little scraggly, and rightly so for various reasons, but we love it!

Our cherry tomatoes!

Look momma, a BABY tomato!

Let me out!

Another baby tomato!

And there they are. 1, 2, 3 tomatoes. We are hoping to pick more tomorrow.

Our Topsy-Turvy tomato plant. I think this is AWESOME!
Bill, a co-worker of Matt's, gave it to me for my birthday!

Boating on the Indian River

On Monday, Matt took a day off work. He and Cecilia had a Papa-daughter fun day, and borrowed a friend's kayak to have an adventure on the Indian River (intercoastal). We weren't sure how it was all going to work out, since Cecilia didn't go for the kayak the last time we tried a few months back. But there were life jackets (body glove, waaay cool) on sale at Sam's Club, so decision made.

Cecilia LOVED it - they ended up spending three and a half hours on the water! They got to play with about 8 manatees out in the river for an hour, wandered around on a little island for a bit, and then got to see a pod of dolphins - 10 or 12 - swimming by. They even paddled with a momma and baby dolphin for about a half hour. Then they paddled about a mile or so out to a big highway bridge and then back to land. Papa was basically the man when he brought a little white spatula so that Cecilia had her own "paddle" and a bucket so that Cecilia could dump water all over everything and everyone. Good distractions.

Getting ready to go!

Mickey Mouse's House

Papa has been so busy lately, we haven't had a chance to go to "Mickey Mouse's House" with him. So this weekend, we packed up, headed out to Orlando and met up with Katy for a fun filled trip to Animal Kingdom. We picked there because we had already been to Magic Kingdom and Epcot with Auntie Steph. Besides, there are ANIMALS there, so we were so excited!

All set to go!

Happy Girls!

Happy Papa!

Happy Momma!

Say cheese!

Katy found cutie patootie sunglasses for Miriam!

Kilimanjaro's Safari. Hold on Mir! Don't want you to be a snack for anyone!

Momma and Mimi- we felt like we were on safari! It was so hot!

Momma holding tight to Miriam! How's that finger taste Mir?

Can't get enough of Katy's shades!

After the park, we went to a friend of Katy's and tried to go swimming. It didn't work out for long as it started thundering and lightening. We needed to eat dinner so we thought we would head over to the little town to try a place there. The only place open was a bar. Yes, I took my kids to a bar. We had to eat! It was very yummy and though we were soaking wet, it was a good time!
