Solid food here we come!

After Mir's 6 month check-up, we decided it was time to start solid food. Our doctor also agreed that she was ready, so cereal here we come! Cecilia didn't like the rice cereal at all...I mean it. She spit it out all the time and it was always wasted. With Mir, we decided to start with a multi-grain cereal (I know I am a bad mom) instead. Here were the results:

We were able to pay so much attention to Mir while doing this because Cecilia was taking a nap.

Miriam is Six Months Old.....The Hales Have Talent!

It's true! Our littlest lady turned 6 months old today! She is getting so big! Love you Mir!

Mir weighed in at 15 lbs 10 oz and 27 inches long at the doctor today.

She's starting to sit up all by herself!

I did it once and now she wants to do it all the time!

Cecilia is also singing a lot more these days.

We try to teach her songs by leaving gaps in the words.

She does pretty well.....when she wants to :)

We are also trying to teach Cecilia some of the basic Catholic prayers we say often.
This is her trying to say the Hail Mary with Matt.
I think she was a bit thrown by praying for the camera. She's getting better each day!

Toddler Park

The other day my mommy friends and I met at a toddler park near my friend Erin's house. It is SO AWESOME! It is built especially for 2-5 year olds and is fenced in! Cecilia can do just about everything by herself so it was a lot easier for me as well. We had such a good time and the weather was so beautiful that we decided to go over the weekend with Matt. Cecilia loves this little park and I am sure we will be there more often!

Mir woke up finally so I thought I would put her in a swing.

Exersaucer!

Like I said, in a matter of no time Miriam has started to hold her head so well and starting to sit up by herself! We decided to bring out the exersaucer to see how she would do in that and she loves it! This is a good thing because the bouncy seat was starting to ride pretty low. Our little lady sure is getting bigger! Look at how much fun she is having!

Cecilia is also very intrigued by the exersaucer. New toy=lots of fun!

Sitting up in the Bath!

It about 3-5 days, Mir went from bobbly baby to just about sitting up by herself! I was giving her a bath tonight, and look what she surprised me with! I couldn't believe it! I made Matt go and get the camera! I think she was happy and just as proud of herself and I was of her!

New Paci

Since Mir is just about 6 months old, and her other paci's are getting too small, I thought I would bring out the new 6 month+ pacifiers. Um, it looks about half the size of her face.

I had to take a picture to show just how big it is. Wow.

She loves it though! Good work Mir!

No Reason

I just love taking pictures of the girls for no reason at all. They just give me great opportunities so I take advantage of them. Cecilia was rocking on the rocking chair and Miriam was in a good mood having just woken up from a nap, so I thought we would try out sitting up. It worked pretty well, and Cecilia helped her steady herself. Here's the best shot I got as well as a surprise from Cecilia!
