Auntie Steph comes to visit!

Mamma was VERY excited that Auntie Steph was able to come for a week and stay with us! We had a great time hanging out around the house, as well as seeing some of the local sights! Here are the highlights!

Auntie Steph was greeted by her very own towel dog!

I think the Hale House should be considered a 5 Star accomodation!

MANATEES!

Cecilia before she threw her hat in the murky water....

Tail flipper.....if you look carefully you can see its body in the water!

Smootchie Smootchie!

Ok, so this manatee looks a little scary, but we have never seen them out

above the water like this before!

A day of the beach....and of course a photo shoot of cutest baby ever!

Who is that baby?

Look at me in my shades!

Cecilia doing her best Titanic impression.

Katy and Scott join us for beach fun!

It's the Mamma!

Auntie Steph self portrait

Cecilia winding down, but still looking cute!

Scary clouds....this happens daily in FL. I am still not used to it.

While Steph was here, I tried to make her yummy Vegetarian food. Here I am trying to be Little Chef making Ratatoullie.

That is a whole lotta squash.

Ok, so the way Little Chef layered it wasn't exactly working, so I just made it like a lasagna and layered the squash that way. I must say, it wasn't the best meal I have ever prepared.

We miss you Auntie Steph! Thanks for coming to visit!

Waiting for Papa!

Every day that we can, we try and wait on the driveway for Papa to get home from work!

Just my size!

Is he coming yet?

Welcome home Papa!

**Notice those are her legs. She basically folds in half.**

Her Highness' New Throne

Since we are going to be traveling a lot soon, and since I am such a big girl, Momma and Papa needed to get me a new chair for the car! Isn't it pretty? Aren't we both pretty?

Momma's New Hobby

My mother is really into quilting and is quite talented at it! Since I have grown up around quilting, my fascination with it has always been present. I thought to myself, surely this is something I can do! So about a year and a half ago, Matt and I started working on a "real" quilt that has three layers and will be a great addition to our house. Well, it started in Boston and followed us to Florida, and now, is on its way to completion! It is a denim quilt made from old blue jeans and is backed with a king size flannel sheet. It is a queen size quilt and will eventually be for our guestroom like I mentioned earlier. Although, since it is denim, it is too thick to machine quilt with my machine, and as I don't have an extra $3000 laying around to buy a quilting machine, I need to do things the old way-by hand! This required a quilt stand/frame for me to work with. My engineer husband said that he could make me one, and here she is, a quilt stand made of PVC pipe! It works so well and I am so thankful for it! I hope to have the quilt completed by November of this year, and have our guestroom in tip top shape by then too!

The entire quilt stand. It is big, but it needs to be to hold a queen/king quilt!

This is the mechanism that allows me to turn or roll the quilt to move to the next section.

This is a view from the other side.

This shows the pattern of the quilt. They are concentric squares alternating with light and dark denim fabrics. Pretty neat, huh?
