Budding Catholic
Since getting Cecilia to say prayers on camera wasn't really working, Matt decided to take the camera into her room to at least get an audio of her praying to share with everyone. She did pretty well for an almost 2 year old! We are so proud of her! She can make the sign of the cross, say the traditional Catholic before meal prayer, "Bless us O Lord," and I am pretty sure she sings the Hosanna from Mass every now and then too (of course not all the words, but you can tell what she is saying). She and Matt also pray a decade of the Rosary at night when he explains a mystery of the Rosary to her before they pray. She knows that Jesus died on the cross for her because he loves her, and that he had "ouches all over" when it happened. I think she understands some things, but I know she's getting there!

Matt, Carly, Cecilia, and Mir:
ReplyDeleteGreetings from the Middle East! I had a moment between flights to check out your blog and want to say how incredibly beautiful your family is. The Church is in good hands when our two-year-olds can recite prayers like a champ! I think of you all often and reminisce about our good times at Camp USAFA. I hope that all is well with you. Blessings and all good things...
Love,
Justin Alberico
Howdy Hales! I love hearing Cecilia's little voice! I hope she has a Happy 2nd birthday tomorrow. Y'all are in my prayers. God bless!
