For the second year in a row, we have gone over to our friends' house for a thanksgiving dinner and trick or treating with the kiddos. It has really worked out well and we have a great time! This year, not being pregnant worked out a lot better. No swollen ankles after! The kids all looked so cute, and I think Katy and Jessica enjoyed just being there and watching them all!

At home Halloween morning
Like I said, Katy and Jessica ended up coming over on Halloween and we were so glad to see them! Our family had been up very early, as per the usual, and started garage sale-ing at about 8am. We had some wonderful finds and useful things for the girls as well as at home. Ask Matt about his table saw. What a deal! There will be more woodworking projects I am sure!

Making a cake!
Saturday for Halloween Katy and Jessica were coming over to hang out and trick or treat. I knew the 30th was Jessica's birthday so Cecilia and I decided to make her a cake. I had a great idea for a Halloween themed cake, but would need to frost it the next day. Here is Cecilia mixing the cake batter. What will it be? Check out our next post to find out!

Malloween
They had a trick or treating event at the local indoor mall, so I thought I would try and take the girls over to see what it was all about. We went with some friends from playgroup as well as ran into a few friends there too. Miss Marcie had a late start at work that day so she decided to join us. We are so glad that she did, otherwise we would have been in big trouble! There were toddlers everywhere not to mention that our toddlers wanted to adventure out themselves too. It was nice to go around to the participating stores and get a dum dums sucker (those seemed to be very popular). In the end we had a great time wearing costumes and enjoying the air conditioning. I think it was like 85 at 10am that day. Geesh.

Pumpkin carving
Last year we didn't think Cecilia was really old enough to understand/"get" carving pumpkins. This year, we figured it would be more fun and that she would want to help out. We were prepared for the worst mess you could imagine, and instead it somewhat backfired. Cecilia was terrified of the "pumpkin goo" and wouldn't come anywhere near it. Of course that meant that Momma and Papa had to try and get her to do it all the more. Matt quit when she almost started crying. I didn't think orange mushy yuck could really scare someone.

Sisters Picture
I try to take pictures of the girls together as much as I can, playing and things, just because I think they look cute and have tons of fun together. This was when Cecilia was playing really nicely with Miriam on the floor. All was well for a while, but then Mir started crying all of a sudden. I asked Cecilia what happened and why was Mimi crying. She said, "I sit on her." Well at least she told the truth.

Fall Hayride!
Believe it or not, there are hayrides in Florida. Now the hay might be imported, the tractor might be 50 years old, and we just go through some overgrown woods, but it was cheap and a fun thing to do as a family. Again, all this sponsored by a local church. It kinda makes me laugh that the churches get so into Halloween, but I guess that's the way they roll in these parts.
