Pumpkin carving

Last year we didn't think Cecilia was really old enough to understand/"get" carving pumpkins. This year, we figured it would be more fun and that she would want to help out. We were prepared for the worst mess you could imagine, and instead it somewhat backfired. Cecilia was terrified of the "pumpkin goo" and wouldn't come anywhere near it. Of course that meant that Momma and Papa had to try and get her to do it all the more. Matt quit when she almost started crying. I didn't think orange mushy yuck could really scare someone.

Getting the table ready. Large knives in the front left.

Papa digging in and Cecilia watching intently.

The goo emerges and Celia freaks out.
Look at that face!

Checking out the goo.

Large bowl of goo and one carved pumpkin. That's as far as we got.

Papa's masterpiece.
